God’s word brought forth light out of darkness. He spoke and it came to be. Darkness can be defined as the absence of light. Light on the other hand is scientifically defined as a collection of electromagnetic radiation called photons flowing at different wavelengths and frequencies. Light scientifically has energy. It’s energy can be trapped by photovoltaic harvesting systems such as solar cells that convert it to electrical energy. This same light that carries with it energy was ordered to be by God…and it became! Gods word is an assurance to us. It never goes forth in vain. When it proceeds from His mouth, it guarantees never to leave circumstances the same. It creates value out of nothingness. It is powerful and cannot be contained. When it proceeds, it transforms. We have God’s spoken word with us…His scriptures. Do we expect change? Do we expect deliverance? Do we expect breakthrough? Let’s focus on what He says in His word. What He says, creates value out of nothingness. If we believe in it, we’ll walk in His favour. When God declared there to be light, He was declaring a manifestation of His presence on earth for God is light. God exists in all circumstances. However, as His people, we need a sign to note that He’s there. Just as in the book of Exodus when He travelled with the people as a pillar of fire at night and a cloud by day, light would signify His presence on the earth just as John says… God is light and in Him there is no darkness. The light shines and darkness cannot confound it.
