Adam made love to his wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, saying, “God has granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him.” Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh. At that time people began to call on the name of the Lord .

A unique season came to the inhabitants of the earth. Adam and Eve bore another son. His name was Seth. Their first two sons had not started well…Cain lost favor in God’s eyes while Abel was murdered before his time. God however is a God of second chances. The seed of man would still be propagated. Hope would still be found. A breathe of fresh air suddenly came to our world after the birth of Seth. Verse 26, informs us that during his time, when he had his son, Enosh, people began to call upon the name of the Lord. This hadn’t happened since the time of Abel. Cain’s sin led him astray from God. His heart had hardened and had become closed to God. His seed had also been led astray by his error. However, during Seth’s time, people began to rediscover their place before God. They began to call upon Him.
