Our life's patterns transformed by God's grand story

LAMECH

When Lamech had lived 182 years, he had a son. He named him Noah and said, “He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the Lord has cursed.”
Genesis 5:28‭-‬29 NIV

Lamech got a son and named him Noah. It’s said that he named him so because he was to symbolize comfort. (Noah meant comfort). Lamech lamented about the toil of work God had given man. It is interesting that Lamech remembered the curse the Lord had declared on the ground after the sin of Adam and Eve. He had a mind of remembrance. So he saw hope in his son, Noah. He saw a new beginning and relief from the Lord. Indeed the child Noah would grow into a God fearing man in a perverse generation. He would be a fresh breathe of relief who would be used by God to save humanity.
