After Noah was born, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Lamech lived a total of 777 years, and then he died. After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth.

After the death of Lamech, Noah grew and became the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth. These partriachs would become significant people in times to come. Their names would be remembered not because of their deeds but because of their father. Noah’s life left an indelible mark in the lives of his sons. Our lives leave a legacy. This legacy is not meant for our benefit but for the benefit of our future generations. If we live a commendeable life before God and man, we’ll be honored even beyond our lives. Our children and children’s children will be honored and remembered on our behalf.
