LIFE SCRIPTS

Our life's patterns transformed by God's grand story

BUT NOAH…

But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord .
Genesis 6:8 NIV

This is a scripture that stops us on our tracks. Verses before, God had complained about the sinfulness of man. He had even regretted to having created man. Scripture was so graphic in the way it described man’s sin. However, here, scripture poses and points us to the life of Noah. This passage begins with the word ‘but’ meaning that in the midst of all sin, one person stood out. He was different. He was unique. He was a man of integrity in an arena of perversion; he was a man of truth in the midst of prevailing deception; he was a man of wisdom in an age of foolishness; he found favour with God when all others had been separated from Him through sin. This testimony about the man, Noah speaks to us in our age. In many ways our age is no different from Noah’s age. Perversion and sin reign supreme. However, as God’s eyes sweep across the earth, will they stop at you and me? Will He speak about us the way He spoke about Noah? In a generation alienated from God by sin, the best we can do to point people to God is living the life we want to see. In no way are we perfect. However God enables us to make the difference and stand out from the crowd through being redeemed by Christ’s blood.
