Our life's patterns transformed by God's grand story

BABYLON SHALL FALL

Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore. The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters shall not be heard in you anymore. No craftsman of any craft shall be found in you anymore, and the sound of a millstone shall not be heard in you anymore. The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived. And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth.”
Revelation 18:21‭-‬24 NKJV

God will bring to a close the sinful age of Babylon in an instant. That great city… A symbol of rebellion and sin, a symbol of whoredom, a symbol of all that defies God will be put down and remembered no more. Scripture says that its merchants won’t go back to it, it will not hear the sound of music, the ‘good’ ol’ days will vanish forever because the Lord shall judge Babylon. The Lord will avenge the blood of the saints that was shed by this system. Oh yes… Each and every drop of blood will be accounted for. This will be the age of total justice. Today we see oppression of the weak, we see sinful politicians getting away with murder and plunder. On this day, justice shall be served hot when that great city which hosted sin shall be overthrown. That great light that shone in Babylon shall be put off suddenly. Isn’t it amazing how developed cities shine their light at night? In fact some of these big cities can be seen from space at night. Their majesty and grandeur isn’t hidden. But in the same way, their defiance against God is also open for all to see… They are hinged on corporate systems which rob the poor, they openly associate with the LGBTQ crusade, they drive people to believe in self as opposed to God, they are systems that thrive in humanism and not godliness. They seem invincible in their defiance against God… They harbor the spirit of Babylon…a society that sought to build a tower in defiance…a community that chose to abandon God in order to ‘progress’. Well one day, God shall overthrow this pride and it shall be no more. Babylon shall fall. And its fall shall be great.
