Our life's patterns transformed by God's grand story

FAITH IN CHRIST

“Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.” “Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us. Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah will certainly not lose their reward. Mark 9:38‭-‬41 NIV

Our family of believers is wider than we can think or imagine. Jesus responded to His disciples not to discriminate against the other person just because he used the name of Christ. At times, we tend to see ourselves as more entitled than others because of the faith we have. We despise the teachings of other preachers, look down on works of service by people we hold in low regard, do not give time to listen even to those we see as growing spiritually. Christ reminds us that anyone who uses His name to His glory is part of His kingdom. The kingdom of God is greater, wider and has an expanse more than we could imagine. Our faith in Christ unites and equalizes us before Him.
