And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
Matthew 5:1 KJV
Christ saw those following after Him and He chose to minister to them. He gives us a very practical way to do ministry; to focus on the people who are interested in us. Rarely do we see people who are drawn to us as a resource. Sometimes, all God wants is for us to take note of the people who’re drawn to us and to reach out to them with the good news. Christ went doing His business as many followed Him. By looking into scripture, we see that He always was a busy man. However, when He saw the multitude following Him, He took notice and started ministering to them. People matter in the eyes of God. It doesn’t matter if it is one, a group or a multitude. They count and Christ showed this to us. Are there people in our lives who are present in our daily engagements but we ignore? They are there ready to hear the good news of hope in God from us. Our workmates, our neighbors, our seat mate in the bus, our family members? God expects us to reach out to them.
