Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

This scripture is an encouragement to us. That we’re not alone in this race. We’re not running an aimless and solitary race. We are surrounded by others also in the same race and others who’ve gone before us. Christian life is not a life of a lone ranger. We should get encouragement from the lives of others who’ve gone before us and were faithful. Again we’re reminded about our reward being in heaven. Our focus ultimately must be to heaven where God will institute all justice fairly. Christ is calling us to suffer for Him.
