Our life's patterns transformed by God's grand story

…beware…

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Matthew 7:15‭-‬16 KJV

A prophet is a messenger of God. He delivers messages to His people concerning what God has done, is doing and is about to do and it’s implications on their state of faith. A false prophet is an imposter. He misleads God’s people often with a selfish motive or motives. Isn’t our world today rife with preachers of a false hope? Isn’t our nation today captivated by men and women who speak messages ‘our ears are itching to hear’, sugar coating them with God’s word? How many instances have we heard of men and women of God whose lives reflect the opposite of what they confess? Christ says in this passage that ‘you shall know them by their fruit’ . The fruit is what distinguishes us. In as much as there is a gross misrepresentation of God, we are called upon to be His true representatives. Our fruit must match the Christ we preach. Our fruit has to be consistent with the vine we are grafted into. Our fruit must be abundant because we are founded on the River of Life. Our lives must reflect Christ in all ways..
