LIFE SCRIPTS

Our life's patterns transformed by God's grand story

…in Capernaum

And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, and saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
Matthew 8:5‭-‬7 KJV

Do we have time for people? I’m reminded of many times when I’m on a mission and all of a sudden I’m stopped by a person seeking assistance. More often than not, I get offended. I start asking myself when this person will finish his issues to release me on my way. That was not the behaviour of the person of Jesus Christ. Christ entered Capernaum with a mission. I’m sure He had work to do there. He however knew that His work involved people. He therefore was not bothered nor taken by surprise when approached by this centurion. He expected him. It was no coincidence. God doesn’t bring people in our lives in vain. He has a purpose. It’s our responsibility to reach out to as many as God brings our way the way Christ reaches out to the centurion.
