LIFE SCRIPTS

Our life's patterns transformed by God's grand story

Simplicity

Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.
Matthew 10:9‭-‬10 KJV

Christ communicates to us the importance of simplicity in mission work. This mission engagement wasn’t cross cultural yet Christ called for the simplicity of His disciples. Simple in clothing, simple in presentation, simple in adornment. Christ wasn’t just communicating about how they ought to look or dress but about lifestyle. Are our lifestyles extravagant, lavish, outlandish and expensive? How must we conduct ourselves as Christians before the world? We should come out as modest and sober in all that we do and stand for for we are serving a diverse kind of people. Paul states that to the Roman, I became lime a Roman. To the Gentile, I became like a Gentile. I’ve become ALL things to ALL people in order that by my lifestyle, I might at least win some for Christ. Moderation should be our goal in all things in life except in God’s love. Only in the love of God should we be extreme and extravagant. Only then will we make impact in preaching the gospel of Christ.
