But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

The hope of the persecuted is the possibility of refuge in another place. I think of the masses of Christians in regions that do not tolerate their faith. Many of them have found refuge in secret home fellowships where they build each other. However when the going gets tough, many have been forced to seek refuge in nations where they can practice their faith. God is calling us to obedience. However, He is not calling in us to suspend our common sense. When hardships come, we must call on God and seek His guidance. We should be on the look out for His leading. In the event an opening of escape comes, we must not hesitate but take it. For Christ will always provide a way out of all difficult situations.
