LIFE SCRIPTS

Our life's patterns transformed by God's grand story

Hidden from the wise…

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.
Matthew 11:25‭-‬26 KJV

Godly wisdom draws us closer to Him. Worldly ‘wisdom’ (which is no wisdom at all) pulls us away from God. It lends credence to our ingenuity and intelligence. We forget that God is the author of all knowledge. Such an attitude is bound to make us blind to God’s truth. Picture majority of the Pharisees including Paul the apostle before his conversion. They were highly educated people. Highly versed in the knowledge of the Law. This knowledge made their hearts puffed up and closed to God’s move. Their human intelligence impeded God’s revelation to them. This is a message to us. As we endeavour to increase our knowledge, as we seek to become more educated and versed in our areas of expertise, we must remember that God is the author of all knowledge. We must not forget that the only way we can grow deeper in Him is through surrendering our intelligence to Him for His leading. Sometimes it can be hard for an intelligent man or woman to exercise faith in God. Because faith calls for being blind to self and alive to God’s leading. This is what God is calling us to. It will take greater sacrifice for highly intelligent people to pursue God than for those who aren’t. But we are called to be Christ like. Remember, He forsook His heavenly abode and grandeur to venture into the rugged world for the sake of mankind.
