LIFE SCRIPTS

Our life's patterns transformed by God's grand story

HE MEETS OUR NEEDS

Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way. And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude? And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full. And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children. And he sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala.
Matthew 15:32‭-‬39 KJV

We’re not told how long Christ ministered to the multitudes on top of the mountain. However, He gives us a glimpse of the amount of time He was accompanied by this great multitudes… 3 days. These people chose to tarry in the presence of Christ. They chose to invest in being with Him. They saw the benefit in Him. Christ saw the need they had also. He saw the hunger they felt. He saw their tired faces. He saw their exhausted bodies. He had compassion on them. Once again, He decided to provide for them. Not only spiritual but physical provision. This is a reminder that the Lord is not ignorant of our needs. However, the priority is first in dwelling in Him. A passage says seek ye first the Kingdom of God and it’s righteousness and all other things shall be added to you. God is not blinded to our needs. However, our primary desire has to be to dwell in Him. Otherwise meeting our needs is His business.
