And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, and was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
Matthew 17:1-2 KJV
Peter, James and John belonged to the inner circle of Christ. Here, they accompany Christ to a high mountain where He’s transfigured. His countenance suddenly changed. It started to radiate and shine light. He was glorious to behold. Certainly, the transfiguration event signified the glorious nature of Christ. That He’s the reflection of the glory of the Father. That the Christ we hear about, read and even believe in is not just a mere wise teacher but God himself. It’s a confirmation of the Deity of Christ.
