Christ leads us to the second level of conflict resolution…engaging others. In the event that the offender refuses to accept liability and seek pardon, Christ instructs us to engage other brothers in the issue. Probably the offender might feel that he or she has not done any wrong…probably he or she feels that the offended also has a part to play. Involving other people brings about a voice of reason. In fact other people will employ wisdom to resolve the issue between the two the best way they can. Other people will bring sobriety, clarity and objectivity to the entire issue. They will sieve through the non essentials, cut to the chase and address the core of the problem.
