When two people are in disagreement, scripture encourages us to engage. In fact it’s clear that the offended needs to approach the offender and address the issue…explain to him or her the area of his or her fault. This forms part of openness and understanding in fellowship between people. In fact, this is the first level of addressing grievances Christ alludes to. To try our best to settle differences among each other in an amicable manner. This creates harmony and understanding. It may be hard for the offended but it results into humility. It may seem offensive to the offender (especially if he or she feels that they’re right) but it will trigger remorse and repentance.
