But whoever holds out to the end will be saved. And this Good News about the Kingdom will be preached through all the world for a witness to all nations; and then the end will come.
Matthew 24:13-14 GNBDC
We are reminded that these last days won’t be easy. There will be forces driven by sin that will force us to abandon the faith. Christ however tells us that …those who hold out to the end will be saved. Not only that but the gospel will be preached throughout the whole world before the end comes. These people who’ll hold out to the end will play a critical role in ushering Christ the second time. Their witness will spread the gospel to corners of the world gripped with darkness. Their true and gallant faith in Christ will season out the storms of sin and lift up the banner of Jesus so that He may be proclaimed in lands where He wasn’t known. Our perseverance in the faith might just be the only gospel story some people will need to make a decision for Christ. Our stand in the faith might be the greatest form of witnesses for Christ not because of the sermons we preached but because of the stance we took against conforming to sin even when we stand to lose…refusing to lie even if it costs us friendship, refusing to bribe even if it costs us opportunities, refusing to compromise even if it puts us at a loss. These seemingly mundane acts of faith will bear power to pull others closer to the hope we have in Christ. They may not make waves. But this radical stance in faith will define us and make us proponents of the great defining moment…the Second coming of Christ.
