Propagators of false doctrine have a way with words. As Christ puts it, the Pharisees would travel miles to convert people. They would convince them with words and lure them to their side. However, they would also feed them on their deceit to the extent that they became even more apostate than them. Deceit begets deceit. Corruption begets corruption. Twisting the truth leads us deeper and deeper into deception as we see from the Pharisees. Their distorted doctrine had the power to push even the most innocent into the abyss of destruction. The truth about false doctrine is that it bears some hallmarks of the true message. However, slight distortions open it up to all sorts of misinterpretations. This is a message to us to be true to the whole word of God.
