Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.

There is something so immediate about anger. I’ve never come across a hot tempered person who takes time to lose his or her temper! Anger manifests fast. It blows up immediately. Such is the message from this scripture. Public display of anger is at the height of folly. The wisest and most self aware man is the one who takes charge of his or her temperament in the midst of provocation especially in public. It doesn’t matter whether such provocations come with insults, cuss words and slander. A prudent man withholds a sharp tongue from a foolish accusation. I have not yet arrived at that point. I pray that may God help me through His Spirit to be able to obey His word in this regard.
